I really like the idea of characters entering a book world. Doesn’t matter if it’s a fictional world that we know of or a fictional world that only exists in their universe. It’s just so much fun to think of.
Here are some books where characters step into some fictional worlds.
“Storybound” by Marissa Burt
“The Fairy Tale Trap” and “The Fairy Tale Twist” by Emily Casey
“The Neverending Story” by Michael Ende
“Inkheart” by Cornelia Funke
“The Magicians” by Lev Grossman
“Booksurfers: Treasure Island” by David Gatward (Series explores other books)
“Broken Shell Island” by Dalya Moon
Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde
“Travel Far, Pay No Fare” by Anne Lindbergh
Awesome list! Jasper Ffordes “Thursday Next” series has characters who enter into books. The first in the series follows Thursday as she enters Jane Eyre. It is such a cool concept!
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve been meaning to try that series for a while now.
Yes, I have one to add! Charles Lindbergh’s ?daughter? ?wife? wrote a book called Travel Far, Pay No Fare, and it’s about two kids who start going into books. They go into like, Little Women, The Yearling, a bunch of different things. I LOVED that book when I was a kid. I thought it was the most magical thing I’d ever read.
Ahh! That sound really fun. I can see why you loved it.
