Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Fantasy, Post Apocalyptic

Source: Bought and won a copy from Goodreads

Summary from Goodreads:

It’s been six weeks since the angels of the apocalypse destroyed the world as we know it. Only pockets of humanity remain.

Savage street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night.

When angels fly away with a helpless girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back…

reviewI have yet to see a bad review for this so I was excited to finally read it. I expected it to be fun but I wasn’t prepared for how good the story ended up being.

The story takes literally a chapter before running off at full speed and never stopped. It was paced beautifully. You never knew where Ee was going to take you. You truly didn’t.

You had to love Penryn. She’s strong but in way that make her seem still human. She has strength and intelligence and heart. Raffe was great as well. I really appreciated that he wasn’t a smoldering love interest. He’s a good guy but not really for Penryn.

The world building was great. Things are really messed up. I wanted to know more about everything. I hope to see more in the future books.

The bottom line? Really enjoyed it. I placed the sequel on hold before finishing this book.
