Reading

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I plan on starting this at lunch today. I was largely unimpressed with Shiver but everyone seems to love this series. That’s enough for me to give Stiefvater another try. Plus this isn’t a paranormal romance which should help with my enjoyment.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

Yes, yes, yes. I’m still working on it. It’s my evening reading so it’s taking a while. I’m enjoying it though! I just got past the wedding fiasco and the revealing of Bertha. I need to read faster because Netflix is sending me the 2006 mini series soon.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

I read this years ago and wasn’t totally wowed by it. I’m giving it another try because a coworker said the audio was pretty good. I knew I had to try it because he urged me to try the Monstrumologist books on audio and they were fantastic.

Watching

Harper’s Island

I started this yesterday because I was bored and wanted something to watch. I was pleasantly surprised at how addicting it was. Sure there are many, many horror tropes going on but you keep clicking for the next episode. I may have watched 8 of the 13 episodes yesterday.

I’m also not so patiently waiting for Grantchester from Netflix. I guess everyone else wants it as well because they keep skipping over it in my queue. 😦

What have you been reading and watching lately?

  1. Aw I hope you enjoy The Raven Boys. I’m sure I’ve told you that I, too, was massively unimpressed by Shiver, and then the Raven Cycle books are probably my favorite books that I read last year. Authors evolve! (Luckily.)

What are your thoughts? (Comments are moderated. Yours will be up as soon as I read it!)
