Behind the Blog: Clarissa at Quirky Lady Bookworm

Behind the BlogGreetings to Clarissa from Quirky Lady Bookworm.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a nerd, Disneyfreak, quirky and I love to read. I think that sums me up pretty well. Haha, no, but I’m Clarissa and I don’t explain it all, sadly. I wish that I did. I’m 28 and I live in the Sunshine state–Florida. (Ironic since it rains a lot during the summer.) I live with my mom, aunt and our two Jack Russell terriers, Sam and Tess.

How did you end up here in the world of book blogging?

Honestly, I just wanted a spot where I could talk about books and things related. I saw a book blog on Tumblr and I was like, “Well, I can do that.” And so…after my first attempt failed, I decided to try again.

What types of books do you enjoy reading?

I have such an eclectic taste in books. I’ll try anything (except erotica) once. My absolute favorite though is Historical fiction.

What do you bring to the world of book blogging? What’s unique about your perspective of books?

I’m not a student nor am I a professional, which is what I think actually sets me apart. I’m just myself and what you see on the blog is me. I speak truthfully and from the heart and I hope that is what comes out.

I’m the nerdy girl next door! Come and read with me, haha. ❤

Do you have any helpful hints about blogging?

Don’t lose hope if you don’t get people following you everyday or your views are sort of low. That’s okay! Even if you have a small audience and you’re enjoying yourself–that is the most important thing.

When you go to the library (or bookstore), do you bring a list of books to get or do you browse to find your next book?

Oh gosh, I browse. I’ve brought lists and then forgotten to get what was on the list.

What book trends do you hope to see more of?

I just want to see more people reading. That’s a trend that I hope never fades away.

What books do you constantly recommend to other people?

Gone With The Wind, Little Women. Always start with the classics!

But I’ve been recommending ‘The Miniaturist’ by Jessie Burton lately. So good!

Any exciting blog things happening in the future?

I’m involved with a lot of book tours that are upcoming! I hope to do my first giveaway soon too.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Have a wonderful day! ❤

Thanks Clarissa!
