Acquired Books*

The Founder’s Curse by Danelle O’Donnell [review request]

Cinders & Sapphires by Leila Rasheed and  Wentworth Hall by Abby Grahame [library]

Altered by Ginnifer Albin [bought]

Reading Plans

I’m reading Cinders & Sapphires right now. It’s amusing enough. I can see the Downton Abbey elements in it but I can also see the characters are different. I’ll read Wentworth Hall after I finish Cinders.

When I finish both of those, I’ll get to my review request book!

What I’ve Been Watching

Last night’s Doctor Who episode was interesting. I really like when episodes focus on universal fears (particularly childhood fears). It’s something everyone can relate to. I can’t wait to see more of Danny Pink.

I watched some more Downton Abbey. I just got the final disc of Season 4 to watch and then I’ll be caught up! I’ve been watching more Psych. It’s silly which is sometimes just what I need.

I tried an episode of North and South. It was okay. It’s a British period piece which I seem to really enjoy. I tried an episode of Numb3rs. It was okay. It seemed like a fairly typical procedural cop show. I tend to enjoy those well enough, I just always want something more from them.

What did you get this past week?
What are you planning on reading this week?

*I’m linking up to Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. I miss seeing all the good books people get! I’m sure my TBR lists doesn’t miss it though.

  1. I didn’t get any books last week. (I know, I’m shocked too.) I’m a couple of weeks behind on my Doctor Who, but I heard Moffat created another scary villain, so I’m looking forward to that. Oh, Crewel looks really good!

  2. I’m not sure if you accept awards but if so I’m nominating you for the Sisterhood of the world bloggers award. Check out details here
Sounds like you had a great week!

    • I think you’d enjoy it. I don’t recall anything of his typical treatment of women. Moffat actually does pretty well when dealing with basic universal fears like in “The Empty Child”/fear of not being able to find your parent and this episode/something under the bed.

The episode does do some weird things with Clara, the Doctor’s timeline, and plot holes but I was willing to overlook them for now because of how much I liked the episode. It’s not “Blink” level good but it’s quite enjoyable.

What are your thoughts? (Comments are moderated. Yours will be up as soon as I read it!)
