Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a graphic designer from New Brunswick, Canada. I’m currently back in school taking programming so that I have more skills to get a job. I’m also an artist. My favourite medium is chalk pastel but I also use pencil, charcoal, acrylic paint and watercolour. Obviously I’m a massive book nerd and will pretty much read anything.

How did you end up here in the world of book blogging?

It was kind of a random thought. I’ve been on Goodreads for forever and was posting reviews there. I discovered some people who had their own blogs for books and decided I wanted to be a part of it. I’m not much of a writer but I love telling people about books. Plus I get to meet all sorts of other book nerds like me!

What types of books do you enjoy reading?

I read both adult and young adult books. I sometimes read middle grade depending on the author. I would say fantasy is my favourite but I also read some contemporary, romance, mystery, sci-fi, dystopia and even some classics.

What do you bring to the world of book blogging? What’s unique about your perspective of books?

I like to think that because I have such a creative mind that I think differently. Plus everyone reads different books so I’m hoping that someone will see a book I reviewed and pick it up. I really like to encourage people who don’t really read to pick up a good book. Why shouldn’t everyone go through that crazy experience while reading a book?

Do you have any helpful hints about blogging?

I just recently started using scheduling. It’s way more convenient because with exams coming up, I don’t have a lot of time to post. Also just write what you’re thinking. I’m pretty sure most people don’t think in formal English. Use sarcasm or be quirky. That’s what makes everyone different!

When you go to the library (or bookstore), you bring a list of books to get or do you browse to find your next book?

I made a rule for myself. I write down books that are being released so that I get them right away. If I’m buying 4 or 5 books then 2 of them can be books I’ve already read. For the library I order my books online and when they’re available they email me and I go pick them up. Technically my Goodreads to read shelf is my “list”.

What type of things always grab your attention in books?

Being an artist I judge a book hard core by its cover. It’s not a deal breaker but if it has a nice cover I’m more likely to pick it up. I always try to read books by Canadian authors too. I tend to grab books with a female lead. It’s just easier for girls to relate to girls.

What book trends do you hope to see more of?

I think I’m over the trends right now. There seems to be a lot of dystopia and Hunger Games like books. I love them but I think I’m ready to see something new.

What books do you constantly recommend to other people?

Anything ever written by Kelley Armstrong. I seriously cannot get enough of her. She’s perfect. I also try to recommend less popular books. If you google books you’re going to see the really popular ones so when I give a recommendation I like to be different.

Any exciting blog things happening in the future?

I’m doing a giveaway soon because I hit 100 followers. That’s pretty exciting. I’m also taking part in the A to Z April Challenge starting on April first. Other than that I’m trying to come up with exciting new posts to entertain you all with.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I’m loving this feature a blog event. It’s a great idea! Hopefully everyone can take part in it at some point.
