“Hard Luck (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #8)” by Jeff Kinney
Genre: Children’s/Middle Grade Fiction, Humor
Summary from Goodreads:
Greg Heffley’s on a losing streak. His best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has ditched him, and finding new friends in middle school is proving to be a tough task. To change his fortunes, Greg decides to take a leap of faith and turn his decisions over to chance. Will a roll of the dice turn things around, or is Greg’s life destined to be just another hard-luck story?
These books are pretty enjoyable but they do get a bit repetitive after a while. This one mixed things up by having Rowley pretty much completely out of the picture and Greg having to cope with his best friend being in a relationship while he is single. It was a pretty humorous story. It was a good experience to explore. It is something that most people with deal with at some point in their life.
The bottom line? This book stepped up a bit for me.
