“The Ugly Truth (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #5)”by Jeff Kinney
Genre: Children’s/Middle Grade Fiction, Humor
Summary from Goodreads:
Greg Heffley has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is getting older really all it’s cracked up to be?
Greg suddenly finds himself dealing with the pressures of boy-girl parties, increased responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come with getting older—all without his best friend, Rowley, at his side. Can Greg make it through on his own? Or will he have to face the “ugly truth”?
This was funny enough just like all the other books. This book stepped up the maturity a notch. Greg finally learns puberty. Even though it hasn’t hit him yet, he has a lot to learn. I really appreciated the fact that it made the situation humorous when I don’t remember the situation being particularly funny. Lots of good humor. I loved that Greg was the assistant flower boy. That was too funny.
The bottom line? Still funny!
