SYNC Schedule for Summer 2013

SYNC is back this summer with free audiobooks! SYNC is a program that gives away free audiobooks. Each week 2 titles are posted: a YA title and a classic book that tie in together. The books are only available for download for one week but you can listen to the books anytime after you’ve downloaded them.

This is a fantastic program especially for people on the fence about audiobooks. Audiobooks are hard to try if you’re unsure about them. They can incredibly expensive. They also can be long which makes listening to them for ~3 weeks a bit difficult if you check them out from the library.  This gets them onto your MP3 player and you listen when it’s convenient for you.

Here’s the schedule from their website:

May 30 – June 5, 2013
Of Poseidon by Anna Banks, read by Rebecca Gibel (AudioGO)

  1. That’s cool! I’ve never tried audiobooks before, and this just may get me to try them out. Stupid newbie question: do I need special software to listen to the books I download? Or will they be an MP3 or WMV file that most audio players support?

  2. I had never heard of this until a fellow GR buddy pointed me in this direction. What an amazing program for readers/listeners!

I am definitely going to check out some of these titles. FYI, I really liked Grave Mercy and The Raven boys.

  3. This is awesome! I’ve recently started listening to audiobooks, so I’ll have to try these out. I also really like that it might get some YA readers to try out some classics 🙂
