Staff Picks (6)

The Mysterious Howling by Maryrose Wood

Mysteries? Humor? Governesses? I love it!

Human.4 by Mike A. Lancaster

This is a great YA science fiction book. It presents an idea that I never thought of before. What if humans were like technology? What if every once in a while we needed to be “upgraded” to the next version of humanity? What if you missed the update?

The Magicians by Les Grossman

Even though I didn’t love this book and it annoyed me in some areas, I do recommend reading it. I really recommend if for fantasy fans especially the people who grew up reading Harry Potter or The Chronicles of Narnia. It’s a really interesting exploration of fantasy literature and how it would be in “real life”.

  1. You picked two of my favorite books this week (the whole Incorrigible Children series is awesome – can’t wait for book 4!). Human.4 sounds really interesting so I’ll have to check it out. 🙂

  2. I tried reading The Magicians and just couldn’t get into it. I did like the parallels to Narnia and HP though. And I really want to read Incorrigible Children; the series looks so cute!

What are your thoughts? (Comments are moderated. Yours will be up as soon as I read it!)
