Alright, I’m SO ready for summer to be over. This 90*+ is killing me. If dealing with hot temperatures wasn’t enough, apparently hot temps kind of kills my desire to read. Blah. Overall, July wasn’t too exciting here at The Cheap Reader. Let’s take a look back…
“Cloaked in Red” by Vivian Vande Velde
“The Hound of the Baskervilles” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
“Wool 2- Proper Gauge” by Hugh Howey
“The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan*
“The Hidden Gallery” by Maryrose Wood*
“Danny the Champion of the World” by Roald Dahl
“Little House on the Prairie” by Laura Ingalls Wilder*
“Bitterblue” by Kristin Cashore*
“Night of the Soul Stealer” by Joseph Delaney
“On The Banks of Plum Creek” by Laura Ingalls Wilder
“Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods” by Suzanne Collins

What’s happening in August? BHA is reading Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. That should be interesting… It’s a bit out there for me but many people really liked it and I’ll have my fellow BHA-ers reading with me. It’ll be fine. Join us!
I’m also looking forward to getting my (digital) hands on Broken Shell Island by Dalya Moon. She pitched it as “Anne of Green Gables meets The Wizard of Oz.” Sounds awesome, huh? Keep an eye out for a review and a GIVEAWAY soon-ish. That’s it!
How was your July? Any big plans for August?
