Hidden in the Shelves is a feature where I show off a discovery (or rediscovery) that I came across while shelving books for work.

The Fairy-Tale Detectives ( and the rest of the The Sisters Grimm series) by Michael Buckley

For Sabrina and Daphne Grimm, life has not been a fairy tale. After the mysterious disappearance of their parents, the sisters are sent to live with their grandmother–a woman they believed was dead! Granny Relda reveals that the girls have two famous ancestors, the Brothers Grimm, whose classic book of fairy tales is actually a collection of case files of magical mischief. Now the girls must take on the family responsibility of being fairy tale detectives.

Summary from Goodreads. Kids that are descendants of the Grimm Brothers  and solve fairy tale crimes? Uhhh you know I’m down to at least try the books. I love reimaginings of fairy tales so I’d love to see how a kids book takes on the idea. It sounds a lot like the TV series Grimm (which is enjoyable enough). It seems like the library has the whole series so I should really grab the first book one of these days.

Have you read the series?
