Don’t Read While You’re Alone…

I go back and forth with scary stories. I hate the ones that are in your face about being scary. That gets boring. I love the slow build of a really good story. You know the ones that make you uncomfortable to be alone. You continually check to make sure the curtains are drawn and the doors are locked. The type of story that could really happen and that makes the terror so much worse. Those are the good ones.

I stumbled across these interconnected stories the other day and needed to share them with you guys. If you have the time, definitely check them out. They’re worth your time. (They’re in the order you should read them in)

Seriously, don’t read while you’re home alone and especially don’t read these at night. I still get shivers thinking about the stories.

  1. I’ve been slowly reading through these after you tweeted them earlier this week. I like a scary story set in a completely ordinary time/place… they get SO CREEPY that way!

  2. I didn’t mention how when I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I was totally creeped out feeling like someone was watching me because I started thinking about those stories. I’m a bit of a wimp, too!

  3. ooooh! I’ll have to check these out sometime; wish I had time right now! I’m a total chicken when it comes to scary movies or shows – last scary movie I watched I ended up having to sleep with the lights on for 2 days – but when it comes to scary books I LOOOOVVVVEEEE them! There’s something that just gets down in your bones and gives you shivers with scary books, but they’re not so terrifying to me as movies are. Thanks for sharing these!
