Style Saturday (December 24): Seasonal Reading

Style Saturday is a meme hosted by me where each week I present a prompt about reading style and explain my answer. Feel free to join in with your answer in the comments or leave a link to your Style Saturday on your blog.

Do you have a suggestion for Style Saturday? Let me know! (Seriously folks, my list of ideas is shrinking.)

This week: Seasonal Reading

Does the season or weather influence the types of books you read or the way you read?

Generally speaking no. I don’t really think of books as winter books or summer books or rainy day books. [The only books that I’ve really assigned to a season is Harry Potter. They will forever be associated with summer in my mind. Most of the books were released in the summer so I would re-read all the previous books over the summer and then read the new book when I got it.]  I’ll read what sounds good when I want to, you know? I don’t like the idea of waiting for the right weather to read a book. [I’m sure most people don’t do that but you get my point.]

I will say that I’m a bit more influenced to read longer books in the colder months and shorter books in the warmer months. Not always but it is a bit of a pattern.

How about you? Do the seasons influence your reading in any way?

What are your thoughts? (Comments are moderated. Yours will be up as soon as I read it!)
