Book Blogger Hop: 8/19-8/22

Book Blogger HopBook Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books. Want to play along? Check out this week’s post for all the instructions!

This week’s question: “What’s the LONGEST book you’ve ever read?”(Note: I’m putting one caveat on this question. You aren’t allowed to say the Bible, Torah, Qur’an, or other religious/spiritual text.)

Hmmmm probably “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” I just check my copy and it’s 870 pages. I read “big” books (~500 pages or so) but I don’t read GIANT books often.

What’s the longest book you’ve read?

  1. The Harry Potter books did get quite lengthy over time, didn’t they? 🙂 At least they were all enjoyable, and that makes the length not so long. Have a nice weekend and happy reading!

  2. I thought my longest book would be Harry Potter… or perhaps a Russian novel, but it wasn’t! It turns out Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell was the longest I’ve read. Fantastic book… like Harry Potter for grown-ups, with malicious fae and dueling mages in the 1800’s. I loved it.

  3. Gone with the Wind seemed to be pretty huge to me. I really enjoyed it though. I’m not sure if it’s longer than Harry Potter?

  4. I just checked my old copy of GWTW is 947 pages. I read it a few times but that was years ago when I was a fanatic. It’s a stand-alone book though. Harry Potter is a whole series of increasingly long books.

  5. Thanks for hopping by my blog! I love that we have the same answer. 🙂 I was so not a fan of Umbridge, either. I couldn’t even watch the parts of the movie with her in them. O_o
    Happy weekend!
