Thurday Tea (July 28): The False Princess

The Book: Right now, I’m working on “The False Princess” by Eilis O’Neal. I’m only a 100 or so pages in at the moment. I’m too anxious to read for very long at the moment. I’m waiting for an important email from school so I can’t focus too long on anything right now.

The Tea: Recently, I’ve become addicted to the Shaken Passion Fruit Iced Tea Lemonade from Starbucks. I even when so far as to buy the Tazo Passion Tea and lemonade so I can make it at home. It’s a pretty good replication.

[If you're curious as to how to I make it, I cold brew the tea for 12+ hours making sure to use about 2 tea bags for every 8 oz. of water  and then add lemonade. I usually make a pitcher at a time so the portions work out to 2/3 tea and 1/3 the pitcher is lemonade. I add the simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water) per cup. Serve over ice.]

Do they go together? The book is fairly exciting and the tea is bright and cheerful. I think they go together pretty well. Better than the black teas that I normally drink.

  1. Great recommendation – thanks. I’ve seen the iced teas advertised at Starbucks but always tend to stick to my chai tea lattes. I might treat myself on a sunny Friday afternoon tomorrow and try it out. :)

    • I usually stick to coffee when going to Starbucks but on a whim ordered this one day. I’ve changed my ways! (until cold weather and then I’ll get coffee again :D )

  2. I love it when people read books I forced upon them! Yay!
